Witches are quite easy.
The trick is to get a halfway natural looking “hunch.” My inspiration was the “Babadook” creature from the movie, which was this neckless, hunched creature, obviously inspired by German expressionist horror movies like “Nosferatu” and “Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.”
It’s a simple PVC frame with a neck, fabric and a mask with good sized office clips to hold the fabric together and obscure the frame. Masks are mostly from FrightProps.com, but I got them else where too. It’s important to use a garden stake or two to steady the witch’s skeleton against the wind or gravity or even heaviness brought about by a sprinkler getting the fabric wet.
A single LED colored spotlight stuck in the ground completes the effect at night. It’s nice when the witches sway in the breeze, looking almost alive.
