This year I wanted to try adding in fluorescent lights to make things pop more. I also had great fun with my Addams Family-esque tableau on my front porch which perhaps emanates from the dread I feel from the upcoming Election. Or not?
I purchased some inexpensive UV outdoor lamps on Amazon and got some fluorescent face paint to add glow to eyes and teeth, trying fluorescent spray paint as well to give a ghostly glow to fabrics.
My favorite simple innovation is modifying life-sized cardboard cutouts by just slapping a creepy flat mask on them for the kids and dad in the family- inexpensive, simple and it looks great!!
I also learned that Etsy is an excellent source for more handcrafted and original masks than larger mask sites! I used awesome masks and other items I found on Etsy from dddalina, AnotherFaceCraft, Nazarlandcraft and DauntingCorpses and a terrific “mom” from BumpInTheNightmare.
